VOROKLINI

Oroklini is situated north-east of Larnaca. A small plateau known as Gerakomoutti commands the area north-west of the village whilst Oroklini lies in a valley extending up to one of the most beautiful coastlines. All is colourful, quiet and placid with sandy bays and wonderful beaches.

Historically, Oroklini appears on Venetian maps as "Voroklini" and is described as "an ancient village marked on old maps by a number of deserted, roughly-built chapels in the nearby areas". The original name of the village is Voroklini.

Along the Oroklini seafront there are impressive and luxor ious hotels and hotel apartments with a great variety of restorants, taverns, cafes and pubs.

In September the Oroklini Improvement board holds the annual festival at the plate next to the Antonis G Hotel apartments.

The festival programe includes theatrical performances, concerts, cypriot and foreign folk dancing, art exibitions and other handcrafts.
